Our mission is to explore our growing awareness of consciousness in shared inquiry, thus furthering individual wholeness and global vision. Our aim is to explore and actualize new possibilities of consciousness.
In the collective understanding within FIONS, consciousness involves fundamental issues of human existence. Such questions as: Who are we? why are we here? and what are we doing? are vital and real. We actively explore the answers to these questions and how our everyday lives are individually and collectively affected by how we respond.
In this context, consciousness involves all dimensions of our existence--physical, spiritual, economic, political, and aesthetic. Our understanding is both limited and distorted, but we are acutely aware that changing our consciousness changes how we operate in the world.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to affect quality-of-life issues through consciousness studies so that we may live in harmony with our environment and achieve our greatest individual and collective potentials.
Our Logo
FIONS' logo was designed by renowned graphic artist, Joe Caroff who writes of the interlocking circles, "the dual presence of the spiritual and material worlds is universally recognized. The circle, as the world's most fundamental form, is used to symbolize both levels. Through their graphic treatment, one perceives that the form below (the material world), is changed as it is seen through the form above, (the spiritual world.)"
